  • Puss in Boots belongs to the orange tabby cat family.
  • Puss in Boots is played by Antonio Banderas.
  • Apparently, the character and suave of Puss in Boots was inspired by Zorro, which coincidentally is one of his voice actor’s role in the past!
  • Puss in Boots was originally a character from Charles Perrault’s book, Le Maître Chat/Le Chat Botté or Master Cat/The Booted Cat.

  • Charles Perrault’s book was published waaay back in 1697, making Puss in Boots over 300 years old now! Whoa!
  • In the original story, Puss in Boots defeated the ogre by tricking the monster into turning into a mouse. This act of heroism also led to the marriage of our feisty feline to the princess! That would’ve been a seriously rad twist in the 2nd Shrek movie!
  • The Puss in Boots character made a cameo appearance in Tchaikovsky’s ballet rendition of The Sleeping Beauty.
  • The first Puss in Boots movie was made back in 1903. It was called Le chat botte or The Booted Cat.
  • Disney beat Dreamworks in making the first feature flick of our feral musketeer with a silent, black and white animated short that was made back in 1922.
  • Puss in Boots also appeared in a TV series called Cannon Movie Tales. It features Christopher Walken as Puss in human form!
