Look what dropped in the mail! We just got an invite for the launch of the new book from Bakemono High creator Elbert Or. It’s called “The More the Manyer!”, and as you can tell from the laugh-out-loud title, it pokes fun at Pinoy takes on boring old English phrases. You’ve probably read a lot of them in email forwards, but with Elbert doing the drawings, it looks like they’ll be even funnier.

Here are some Pinoy-isms, since the K-Zone team is tired from our deadline and needs a good laugh.

“Come, let’s join us!”

“What’s your next class before this?”

“Been there, been that.” (We actually wanted to use this in on the cover of our Mr. Bean issue last April — “Bean There, Bean That!”)

“Hi, I’m Lio. What’s yours?”

“It’s as brand as new!”

“So…what’s a beautiful girl like you?”

“It’s not my problem anymore. It’s your problem anymore.”

“Well, well, well, well. Look do we have here!”

And so on and so forth. Di ko matuloy…namamatay ako sa katatawa. Aaack!
