To celebrate Buwan ng Wika, the August ish had a wacky article where we combined a famous anime character with a famous Pinoy hero to form a mash-up the likes of which have never been seen! Presenting: Pinoy Anime Heroes!

You can read the full article in our August issue (it’s out now), but here, it’s time to vote for your fave!

WHOA. Let’s all give a big, big, big round of applause for Mr. Elmer Damaso for being DC Comics’ new illustrator! He’s doing the art for their new LEGO Hero Factory comics!

Sir Elmer is one of K-Zone’s long-time illustrators. If you followed the names on the margins, you know that Elmer draws the K-LEB Comics, Peegor and Doc Frankenfurterseen strips, Last Laugh prank tags, and more. Congrats — and hope you get more great art gigs to come!

The comic is also being colored by the Digital Art Chefs, who’ve also done work for K-Zone (remember last year’s Welcome page with the giant robot K-LEB in the May 2009 issue? That’s them. They also did “The Adventures of the Longest Bear in the World” comic). Congrats, too!

If you’ve gotten a copy of the July issue, you know that we’ve got a report card for you guys to answer where YOU GRADE US! It’s all part of our evil master plan of making K-Zone better. If you guys tell us which sections you like the most (and like the least), and what we need to do, then we’re going to make K-Zone better!

Plus, if you answer, you could get a chance to win a nifty K-LEB t-shirt!

But what if you don’t like pulling pages out of your magazine? Well, good news: we have a print-able version for you right here in Ka-Blog! We don’t care if it’s in color or not…just send it in to our address: “K-Zone Philippines, 6th Floor Robinsons Cybergate Tower 3, Robinsons Pioneer Complex, Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City 1550, Philippines!

To download, just click the images below to view the full size. Right click (or Control+click if you’re using a Mac) and select “Save Image As…”. Then print the sheets from your comp, fill them up, and send it in!

If you’ve got the Marvel Edition of our July issue, then you know that we have a superpower fortuneteller included in the ish! Here’s how to work it!

Step 1: Cut out the Power Teller from the issue. If you don’t like the idea of cutting up your precious KZ, then just click the image to view the large version of this image. Then, download it by right-clicking the image (or if you’re using a Mac, Control+click) and then choose “Save Image As…”.

Step 2: Follow the instructions in your Marvel issue to build the Power Teller. You should end up with something like this:

Step 3: Now it’s time to find out your power! Choose a color from one of the four colors on the outer flaps. Spell out the color by opening and closing Power Teller for each letter. For example, if you choose “RED”, then you have to open and close it three times (”R”, “E”, “D”).

Step 4: Now pick a number from the choices in the center of the Power Teller. Open and close it that number of times.

Step 5: Pick a second number from the choices in the center. Open and close the Power Teller that number of times. Choose a final number from the choices in the center, then lift the flap off the number to reveal your superpower!

What superpower did you get? Tell us about it here!

In the comics, Wonder Woman is about to get a huge new makeover.

Wonder Woman Comparison

Goodbye swimsuit, hello pants and leather jacket!

How did this happen? Well, it’s the same old Wonder Woman, but some mysterious event has changed her past. So Wonder Woman grew up in the inner-city streets, which explains her brand-new uniform.

Do you like the new look?

Did you know that it’s DC Comics’ 75th anniversary this year? And that Superman #700 (!!!) is coming out this week?

To celebrate all these milestones, comic book website Newsarama made a handy-dandy history of DC Comics’ biggest character Superman, from when he first appeared in 1938 all the way to the 2000s. Check it out, it’s amazing!
