Last Saturday, Jiro and I went to SM Mall of Asia to participate in TailRunners: The Metro Dog Run 2010—the biggest doggie marathon to happen in Metro Manila!
(I was very excited that I hugged him too tight while we posed for the camera. Sorry, Jiro!)
Around 300 dogs of all breeds and sizes were present at the event, and I could tell that Jiro was very happy as he went on his butt-sniffing mission and made new friends.
Pet lovers and their four-legged buddies went to race in 1k, 3k, and 5k categories. The run aimed to promote a pet-friendly metro and the importance of fitness for us, owners, and also for our furry friends.
Aside from the race, small and medium-sized doggies got to join in fun games, got their photos taken at a photobooth, and watched their fellow pups do some tricks. Ji tried his best to go around, and even found a new crush! Teehee.
The pups may have grown tired of all the running, playing, and butt-sniffing, but we knew that the experience was indeed a fun one for them.
‘Til our next doggie adventure!

Who says animals can’t have fun under the sun? Domingo Pianezzi, an international surfer from Peru, came up with the idea of teaching his alpaca, Pisco, how to surf in the cool, blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Alpacas are domesticated mammals—often resembling a small llama, which are found in South America. ![]() Close-up of an Alpaca's face Pisco, who wore a lifevest, hunkered down on a 10-foot longboard while catching the small waves with Domingo. Pisco bravely cruised along before falling into the water with a bit of a cold sweat. DYK? Domingo Pianezzi have also tried surfing with a dog, a cat, and a parrot! Present at the event for the ribbon-cutting are Miss Tessa Prieto-Valdez, a certified dog-lover, and her kids!
